Hermitage is a city in Hickory County, Missouri, United States. It is located on the Pomme de Terre River. In 2020, about 621 people lived there. Hermitage is also the county seat of Hickory County. This means it is the main city where the county government is located.
The John Siddle Williams House is a special building in Hermitage. It is on Museum Street. Since 1980, it has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is an important historical place. Today, it is home to the Hickory County Historical Society Museum. You can visit it to learn about the area's past.

History of Hermitage
Hermitage was started in 1846. It got its name from a famous place called The Hermitage. This was the home of a former president, Andrew Jackson, in Tennessee.
In 1847, Hermitage was chosen as the main city for Hickory County. The county itself was also named after Andrew Jackson. He had a famous nickname, "Old Hickory."
