Hero Factory: The Story

Hero Factory is all about a special organization that makes robots called Heroes every day. These Heroes are trained to catch villains and keep the galaxy safe. Each Hero is unique, with their own personality and cool gear. They work together in teams. The Hero Factory's main building is a huge skyscraper in a city called Makuhero City. This city is on a special asteroid.

The show mostly follows the missions of the Alpha 1 Team. This team is the most experienced and praised at the Hero Factory. Their leader is the experienced Hero, Preston Stormer. The team also includes older members like Dunkan Bulk and Jimi Stringer. William Furno, Mark Surge, and Natalie Breez started as rookies but became full teammates. Later, new rookies Julius Nex, Nathan Evo, and Daniel Rocka joined. All Heroes call each other by their last names.

After the episode "Ordeal of Fire," the Heroes get awesome new "2.0" forms. This is part of a new system for building Heroes. These new forms became the base for future upgrades. Heroes would get new armor, weapons, and gadgets for each mission. These upgrades depended on where they were going or how dangerous the villain was.

Meet the Characters

The Heroes

Preston Stormer is the serious leader of Alpha 1. He is very strict and expects a lot from his team. Stormer is a skilled Hero who has been in many battles. He is a natural leader and very competitive. After a past mission went wrong, he became very tough on new rookies. He often blames himself when things go wrong. Stormer doesn't care about being popular; he just wants to do his job well.

William Furno started as a wild and ambitious rookie Hero. Now, he is a very important team member. As a rookie, Furno was impatient but very eager to prove himself. He especially wanted to impress Stormer. He was also very confident, thinking he could do anything. This confidence pushed him to try harder tasks. Over time, he became less overconfident but is still very eager. He sometimes disagreed with the new rookie, Rocka, but later accepted him. Furno also tried to learn how to be a leader. He was even promoted to commander for "Mission: Brain Attack." He led many Hero teams, including Alpha 1. Furno's Hero Core is thought to be the purest ever.

Dunkan Bulk is a strong and powerful member of Alpha 1. His huge strength hides a growing intelligence. Bulk's robot brain is not as developed as others, which sometimes makes him feel a bit shy. But he makes up for it with his amazing power. He can take hits that would destroy armored vehicles. He is known as one of the Hero Factory's strongest Heroes. Bulk is always ready for a mission and loves fighting for the Hero Factory. He has been working hard to become smarter by reading more and learning new words.

Jimi Stringer is a calm and musical veteran of Alpha 1. He uses sound-based weapons. Stringer enjoys fighting for the Hero Factory, but he is very relaxed. He stays cool even in tough missions. This attitude sometimes bothers his teammates but helps him in stressful situations. Unlike other Alpha 1 members, Stringer likes working with new Heroes. He loves music and writes song lyrics about his relaxed ideas on fighting.

Mark Surge is one of the youngest members of Team Alpha 1. He can be hot-headed and is secretly insecure. Surge believes something went wrong when he was built. Still, he is a capable, though sometimes clumsy, Hero. He was built with experimental designs, which he didn't like because it meant constant checks. He is known to be rebellious and emotional. He tries to be logical but gets upset easily. He is also very strong but sometimes struggles to use his strength correctly. He loves action missions and rarely likes community work. Surge also worries that he might become evil, like Von Nebula. He has faced this fear, but it still bothers him. He often throws himself into action to forget his worries.

Natalie Breez is the only female member of Alpha 1. She can be blunt with her teammates but feels a special connection to nature. Breez is great at staying calm under pressure. She cares deeply about innocent lives. She often says she is not interested in romance with her teammates. For her, being a Hero is the most important thing. She is confident in her abilities and doesn't want others to protect her. Breez is a fierce fighter when protecting innocent people. She will do anything to keep citizens safe during missions. Breez can talk to all kinds of animals because of a program in her Hero Core. This also lets her feel when nature is disturbed. She is also good at throwing knives and hooks, which she learned in her 2.0 training.

Nathan Evo is a thoughtful rookie Hero who likes to use heavy weapons. He started out calm and quiet, an expert with weapons. In his first missions, he would meditate before a fight to get ready. As a rookie on Alpha 1, he felt pressure to be as good as Stormer. But with help from his teammates, he is overcoming his doubts. Evo has recently become very excited about all kinds of technology. He loves using the Battle Machines in Antropolis City.

Julius Nex is a friendly and tech-savvy rookie on Alpha 1. He is also in charge of Hero Outreach. Nex is enthusiastic and very skilled with his body. He is super flexible and has amazing senses. He is an expert at communication and can connect with almost any system. For Mission: Savage Planet, he was given special instincts like a saber-toothed tiger.

Daniel Rocka is the headstrong new rookie of the team. He is also part of the Hero Recon Team, a secret part of Hero Factory. Rocka is a lot like a younger Furno. He is very confident and eager to take on challenges without thinking about his limits. This confidence sometimes made him clash with Furno, but they eventually became friends. His training has given him many skills. As a Recon Team member, he is also good at keeping secrets and spying. Rocka is great with technology and loves creating new software and devices.

The Villains

Von Nebula is a super evil mastermind. He can control black holes using a special staff he made. He used to be a Hero named Von Ness. But he was a coward and left his teammate Stormer during a bad mission. He became selfish and turned into Von Nebula. He hired the most dangerous villains in the galaxy to get revenge on Stormer. He blamed Stormer for his own mistakes. After a fight with Stormer and Furno, he was defeated. They trapped him inside his own black hole staff and put it in prison storage. Later, another villain, Voltix, used the staff to cause a villain breakout. The Heroes then thought Von Nebula might have wanted the staff inside Hero Factory for a bigger plan.

XPlode is a villain who can shoot explosives from his armor. He and his partner, Rotor, were hired by Von Nebula. They were stealing explosives from a Hero Factory transport. The Heroes stopped them, and Rotor was captured, but XPlode ran away. Later, he teamed up with Thunder, Corroder, and Meltdown to destroy the Heroes. The Heroes beat them. XPlode then fired his explosives at the Heroes. But with a special device, the Heroes survived. XPlode was knocked out and arrested with the other villains. He was part of the "Breakout" but was caught again. XPlode is a coward because he left Rotor behind during their robberies.

Other Important Characters

Professor Nathaniel Zib is a Senior Mission Manager at Hero Factory. He watches over all of the Alpha 1 team's missions. Zib is a smart planner and problem solver. He is very serious when working and always makes sure Heroes follow mission rules.

Quadal is Zib's robot assistant. He helps Zib during Team Alpha 1's missions. Quadal scans things and does technical work in the Control Room. He can float and has many arms hidden inside his body. Quadal doesn't talk with words but makes beeping noises that Zib understands. He is very good with technology and numbers.

Akiyama Makuro is the person who started Hero Factory and Makuro Industries. He is the oldest known robot in the galaxy. Makuro saw that there was a lot of evil in the universe. So, he created the Hero Factory to make Heroes who would protect the galaxy. He personally checks on the creation of every Hero. When Stormer was created, Makuro felt he would be a special Hero. He was right, as Stormer became the leader of Alpha 1. Makuro felt the same about Furno. Later, he created "The Upgrade," a new design for bigger, stronger Heroes. He then gave this upgrade to all Heroes.
