Highland Beach is a small town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is part of the larger Miami metropolitan area in South Florida. The town is about 50 miles north of Miami. It is also 28 miles south of Palm Beach. In 2020, about 4,295 people lived in Highland Beach.

History of Highland Beach
Highland Beach became an official town in 1949. It was named for its slightly higher land compared to nearby areas. The town has very few businesses. This helps keep it mostly a place where people live. The two main businesses are The Delray Sands Resort and John P O'Grady Realty. The Delray Sands Resort used to be a Holiday Inn. Both businesses are in the same building.
