Historic Brookhaven is a special old neighborhood near Atlanta, Georgia. It's known for its beautiful homes and green spaces. This area is so important that parts of it are in Atlanta's Buckhead area, Sandy Springs, Georgia, and even the city of Brookhaven, Georgia. In fact, the city of Brookhaven got its name from this historic neighborhood!
Exploring Historic Brookhaven
At the very heart of Historic Brookhaven is the Capital City Club. This is a famous country club with a large golf course. Many valuable and grand homes surround the club. These houses were built a long time ago, before World War II. Many were designed by well-known architects from Atlanta.
Where is Historic Brookhaven?
Historic Brookhaven has clear boundaries. It stretches from Peachtree Dunwoody Road on the west side. To the north, you'll find Windsor Parkway. Mabry Drive is on the east, and Peachtree Road forms the southern border.
A Wealthy Community
Historic Brookhaven has always been one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the Atlanta area. This means that families living here have high incomes. As of 2010, it was known for being a very rich community.
