P. J. Hoffmaster State Park is a fun place to visit on the shores of Lake Michigan in the U.S. state of Michigan. This state park covers about 1,200 acres (486 hectares) of land. It includes 3 miles (4.8 km) of sandy beach right on the lake. The park is managed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. You can find it near Norton Shores in Muskegon County and Spring Lake Township in Ottawa County.

Discovering P. J. Hoffmaster State Park
This beautiful park was created in 1963. It is named after Percy James Hoffmaster. He was a very important person in Michigan's history. Many people think he helped start the state park system in Michigan. He worked for a long time as the Director of the Department of Conservation.
The park's nature center is named after Emma Genevieve Gillette. She was a person who helped Mr. Hoffmaster find great spots for new state parks.

Some popular trails include the Dune Climb Stairway, the Walk-a-Mile, and Homestead trails. In the winter, about 3 miles (4.8 km) of these trails are prepared for cross-country skiing. It's a great way to enjoy the snowy landscape!

If you love spending time outdoors, the park has two campgrounds where you can stay overnight. There's also a beautiful beach where you can relax by Lake Michigan.
