Hopewell station is a historic building located in Hopewell, Mercer County, New Jersey. It was once a busy train station. The station was built way back in 1876.

The main part of the station, called the head house, is very important. It has been listed on both the New Jersey state and National federal lists of historic places since 1984. This means it's a special building that needs to be protected. There are even ideas to open the station again for train service in the future. This would be part of the West Trenton Line.

Station History: A Journey Through Time

The Hopewell station was built in 1876. It was part of a big plan by the Delaware and Bound Brook Railroad. This plan aimed to create a major railway route. This route would connect two very important cities: New York City and Washington, D.C..

In 1879, another company, the Philadelphia and Reading Railway, took over the station. They managed the train services there for many years. However, regular train service to Hopewell station eventually stopped. This happened in December 1982.
