Huyett, Maryland facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Huyett (also known as Huyetts Crossroads) is a small community in western Washington County, Maryland, United States. It's not a big city or a "census-designated place" (CDP), but it's a known spot on the map! You can find it north of Williamsport and south of Cearfoss. It sits right on two important roads: Maryland Route 63 and U.S. Route 40. Huyett is also west of Hagerstown and east of Clear Spring. It's officially part of the larger Hagerstown Metropolitan Area, which includes Hagerstown and Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Why Huyett is Important

Huyett might be small, but it's a busy place for transportation! Many trucking companies and businesses that deal with moving goods around the Hagerstown area have set up shop here. This is because Huyett has really easy access to two major highways.

Easy Highway Connections

The community of Huyett benefits a lot from its location near big roads. Trucks and other vehicles can easily get onto Interstate 70 using exit 24 (which is for MD 63). They can also quickly reach Interstate 81 through exit 6B (which is for US 40). These connections make Huyett a perfect spot for businesses that need to transport things across the state or even the country.
