Hwangbo Kwan (Korean: 황보관) is a famous South Korean football player and manager. He was born on March 1, 1965. He is well-known for his powerful long-range shots. One of his most memorable goals was against Spain in the 1990 FIFA World Cup.

A Star Player

Hwangbo Kwan played as an attacking midfielder. This means he helped both defend and score goals. He was known for his strong and accurate shots from far away. Fans often called his powerful shots "cannon shots."

He started his professional career in 1988. He played for the Yukong Elephants team. He stayed with them until 1995. During this time, he played in 171 games. He scored 44 goals for the team.

After that, he moved to Japan. He played for Oita Trinity from 1996 to 1997. There, he played 54 games and scored 27 goals. In total, he played 225 club games and scored 71 goals.

Playing for South Korea

Hwangbo Kwan also played for the South Korean national team. He joined the team in 1988. He played 37 international games for his country. He scored 10 goals for the national team.

One of his most famous moments was in the 1990 FIFA World Cup. He scored a fantastic goal against Spain. This goal showed off his amazing long-range shooting skills.

Life as a Manager

After he stopped playing, Hwangbo Kwan became a football manager. A manager is like a coach who leads the team. He worked for Oita Trinita in Japan. He was an assistant manager there in 2004.
