Ibo Bonilla Oconitrillo (born January 23, 1951) is a talented person from Costa Rica. He is an architect, a sculptor, a mathematician, and an educator. He also has Spanish nationality.

He is well-known for designing buildings that work well with nature. These are called Bioclimatic Buildings. He is also famous for creating impressive sculptures in public places.

Biography

Ibo Bonilla is often called “Professor Ibo.” He was born in Sarchí, a town in Alajuela, Costa Rica. This town is famous for its art. Ibo Bonilla has traveled all over the world. He has studied many different subjects.

He became an architect, a sculptor, a mathematician, and a teacher. He also studied quality management in Spain. Later, he earned a master's degree in business administration.

Ibo Bonilla was the first architect to graduate in Costa Rica in 1977. Before him, Costa Ricans had to study architecture in other countries. He was also the first Costa Rican architect to be officially recognized in Spain. In 2023, he was named one of "the ten most famous Costa Ricans in the world."
