Starting Out in France
Ibrahim Ba was born in Dakar, the capital city of Senegal. He started playing for the French club Le Havre AC in 1991, when he was not yet 18 years old. He stayed there for five years. In 1996, he moved to another French club, Bordeaux. With Bordeaux, he reached the final of the Coupe de la Ligue, which is a big cup competition in France.
Winning Trophies with A.C. Milan
In 1997, Ibrahim Ba moved from Bordeaux to Milan, a very famous club in Italy. He had a great start, helping Milan win the Serie A title in the 1998–99 season.
Later, he was loaned to other Italian clubs like Perugia and Marseille. When he returned to Milan, he was part of a very successful team. In the 2002–03 season, Milan won both the UEFA Champions League (the biggest club competition in Europe) and the Coppa Italia (Italy's main cup). Even though he didn't play in many games that season, he was still part of the winning squad.
Playing in England and Sweden
In 2003, Ibrahim Ba left Milan and joined Bolton Wanderers in England. He helped them get to the 2004 Football League Cup Final. He played in the semi-finals, but he wasn't in the squad for the final match, which Bolton lost. After just one season, he moved to Turkey to play for Çaykur Rizespor.
In 2005, he signed with Djurgårdens IF in Sweden. In his first year there, Djurgården won both the Allsvenskan (the top Swedish league) and the Svenska Cupen (the Swedish cup). He played 14 games and scored one goal for the club before leaving in 2006.
Returning to Milan and Retirement
In 2007, Ibrahim Ba went back to Italy. He trained with a smaller team, Varese, to get back in shape. Then, he agreed to a one-year contract with his old club, A.C. Milan.
