Igor Lichnovsky Osorio (born on March 7, 1994) is a professional football player from Chile. He plays as a central defender. Currently, he plays for Liga MX club América and the Chile national team.

Igor Lichnovsky's Club Career
Igor Lichnovsky was born in Peñaflor, a town near Santiago. His father has Austrian roots, with some German and Slovak family history.
Starting at Universidad de Chile
Igor started his football journey at a young age. He joined Club Universidad de Chile when he was just 8 years old. His first big game in the Primera División was on November 20, 2011. He played the entire game, which ended in a 0–0 draw against Club Deportivo Universidad Católica. He was even named the Player of the match for his great performance!
He scored his first goal as a professional player on April 29, 2012. This goal helped his team win a big derby match 5–0 against Colo-Colo.
Playing in Portugal with Porto
Igor's excellent playing for Universidad de Chile and the Chilean youth national teams caught the eye of big clubs. Chelsea from England was interested in him. However, he ended up signing a four-year contract with FC Porto in Portugal in June 2014. He first played for their B team.
His first official match for Porto's main team was on October 17, 2015. They won 2–0 against Varzim S.C. in a cup game. In January 2016, he was loaned to Sporting de Gijón in Spain. He made his La Liga debut on February 17, playing the whole game against FC Barcelona.
On August 2, 2016, Igor went back to Spain on another loan. This time, he joined Segunda División team Real Valladolid. He scored his only goal in Spain on September 3, helping his team win 2–1 against Girona FC.
Moving to Mexico
On June 21, 2017, Igor moved to a new continent to play football. He joined Club Necaxa in Mexico. He played his first Liga MX game on July 24, winning 2–0 against C.D. Veracruz. He was a key player for Necaxa during that season.
In May 2018, Igor moved to Cruz Azul, another club in the same league. He scored his first goal in Mexican football on March 31, helping his team get a 2–2 draw against C.F. Monterrey.
Playing in Saudi Arabia
On October 10, 2020, Igor Lichnovsky signed with Al Shabab FC. This team plays in the Saudi Professional League in Saudi Arabia.
Igor Lichnovsky's International Career
Igor has played for Chile at different age levels. He played for the under-17 and under-20 teams.
Youth National Teams
He was the captain for the under-20 team in the 2013 South American Youth Championship. He helped his team qualify for the 2013 FIFA World Cup in Turkey.
Senior National Team
Igor made his debut for the senior Chile team on November 14, 2014. He played the entire game in a 5–0 friendly win against Venezuela. His second appearance for the national team was on March 27, 2018, in a 0–0 friendly match against Denmark.
He was chosen by manager Reinaldo Rueda to play in the 2019 Copa América in Brazil. He played one match as a substitute. He came in during the game against Uruguay at the Maracanã Stadium. Chile finished fourth in that tournament.
