Igor Lichnovsky Osorio (born on March 7, 1994) is a professional footballer from Chile. He plays as a central defender. Currently, he plays for Liga MX club América and the Chile national team.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Universidad de Chile
Igor Lichnovsky was born in Peñaflor, a town near Santiago, Chile. His father has Austrian, German, and Slovak roots. Igor started playing football at a young age, joining Club Universidad de Chile when he was just 8 years old.
He made his first professional appearance in the Chilean Primera División (Chile's top football league) on November 20, 2011. He played the entire game, which ended in a 0–0 draw. Igor was even chosen as the Player of the match for his great performance.
Igor scored his first goal as a professional player on April 29, 2012. This goal helped his team win a big local game, a "derby," against Colo-Colo with a score of 5–0.
Playing in Portugal with Porto
Igor's strong performances for Universidad de Chile and the Chilean youth national teams caught the attention of big clubs. In June 2014, he signed a four-year contract with FC Porto in Portugal. He first played for their B team, FC Porto B.
He played his first official match for FC Porto's main team on October 17, 2015, in a cup game called the Taça de Portugal. In January 2016, he was loaned to Sporting de Gijón in Spain. He made his debut in La Liga (Spain's top league) on February 17, playing against FC Barcelona.
On August 2, 2016, Igor went back to Spain for another loan spell. He joined Segunda División (Spain's second division) team Real Valladolid. He scored his only goal for this team on September 3, helping them win 2–1 against Girona FC.
Moving to Mexico
On June 21, 2017, Igor moved to a new continent to play football in Mexico. He joined Club Necaxa. He played his first game in Liga MX (Mexico's top league) on July 24, helping his team win 2–0. He was a key player for Necaxa during that season.
In May 2018, Igor transferred to Cruz Azul, another team in the same league. He scored his first goal in Mexican football on March 31, helping his team get a 2–2 draw against C.F. Monterrey.
Time in Saudi Arabia and Back to Mexico
On October 10, 2020, Igor signed with Al Shabab FC in the Saudi Professional League in Saudi Arabia. After playing there for two seasons, he returned to Mexico.
He joined Tigres UANL in 2022. He played for Tigres until 2024, before moving to América, first on loan, and then permanently in 2024. He continues to play for América today.
International Career
Igor Lichnovsky has represented Chile at different age levels. He played for the under-17 and under-20 teams. He was the captain for the under-20 team in the 2013 South American Youth Championship. He helped his team qualify for the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
He made his debut for the senior Chile national team on November 14, 2014. This was a friendly match against Venezuela, which Chile won 5–0.
In 2019, Igor was called up to play in the 2019 Copa América in Brazil. This is a major football tournament for South American teams. He played one match in the tournament as a substitute.
