Ike Kinswa State Park is a fantastic place for outdoor fun! It's a public park located in Lewis County, Washington, right on the northern side of Lake Mayfield. You can find it about 3 miles northwest of a town called Mossyrock.

This park covers 421 acres and has a huge shoreline, perfect for water activities. It includes parts of the Tilton River and where the Tilton and Cowlitz rivers used to meet. At Ike Kinswa State Park, you can enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, waterskiing, and even windsurfing! There are also great spots for camping, hiking, and mountain biking. The park is managed by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

Park History

Ike Kinswa State Park came into existence because of the Mayfield Dam. This dam was built in 1963, which created Lake Mayfield. The park was first known as Mayfield Lake State Park.

In 1971, the park's name was changed to Ike Kinswa State Park. This was done to honor Ike Kinswa, who was a respected member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.
