Ilya Vladimirovich Prusikin (Russian: Илья́ Влади́мирович Пруси́кин, born on April 8, 1985) is a Russian musician, singer, and video director. He is best known as the leader and founder of the Saint Petersburg rave group Little Big. He is also known by his stage name Ilich (Russian: Ильич).
Life and Creative Work
Ilya Prusikin was born in Siberia, in a village called Ust'-Borzya. When he was very young, his family moved to Sosnovy Bor. He learned to play piano at a local music school. Prusikin later studied psychology at the Saint-Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts.
In 2011, he started working with a video production company called "Thank you, Eva!". He directed popular online shows like "Guffy Gough Show" and "The Great Rap Battle". Both of these shows became very popular online. In 2012, Prusikin also created an internet comedy show called "Police Weekdays".
In 2013, Prusikin and Eldar Dzharakhov started a creative group called "ClickKlak". They said their audience was young people who enjoy an active lifestyle and good humor. Their channel features shows like "Give the Bream" and "Thrash Lotto".
Musical Journey
In 2003, Ilya became a member of a nu-metal band called Tenkorr. He also gained experience working with other groups, including Like A Virgin and St. Bastards.
Prusikin became much more famous with his band Little Big. The band was founded on April 1, 2013. All of the band's music videos are directed by its co-founder, Alina Pasok.
Personal Life
On July 6, 2016, Prusikin married musician Irina Smelaya, who is also known as Tatarka. Their son, Dobrynya, was born on November 26, 2017. On August 21, 2020, Smelaya and Prusikin announced that they had separated.
Since August 2020, Ilya Prusikin has been in a relationship with Sonya Tayurskaya. In May 2024, the couple shared that they were expecting a child. They shared pictures with their son in November 2024.
Views and Public Statements
In 2018, Prusikin spoke about his concerns regarding some issues in his home country. He also talked about how people seemed to accept certain problems too easily.
In a 2019 interview, Prusikin shared his strong dislike for modern politics in Russia. He pointed out what he saw as an increase in "intolerance and anger" after 2012. He also publicly supported journalist Ivan Golunov during a difficult time for him.
In 2022, after the conflict in Ukraine began, Prusikin stated, "We love our country, but we completely disagree with the war in Ukraine. We believe that any war is unacceptable." He also got a tattoo on his arm that says "No war." He announced that he had left Russia and moved to Los Angeles with Sonya Tayurskaya. He explained that they were very upset by the military propaganda and decided to leave the country. On June 23, 2022, his band Little Big released a song called "Generation Cancellation".
