Inbee Park (Hangul: 박인비; Hanja: 朴仁妃, born on July 12, 1988) is a famous professional golfer from South Korea. She plays on the LPGA Tour and the LPGA of Japan Tour. Inbee has been ranked as the number one female golfer in the world several times.

She has won seven major championships in her career. In 2013, she won three major titles in a row, which is a very rare achievement in golf! She is also the youngest player ever to win the U.S. Women's Open. Inbee is one of only seven players to win four different major championships, completing a "career Grand Slam." In 2016, she won the first Olympic gold medal for women's golf since 1900.

Early Life and Amateur Golf

Inbee Park was born in Seoul, South Korea. She started playing golf when she was 10 years old. Just two years later, at age 12, she moved to the United States to focus on her golf career.

As a young golfer, she won nine events on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) tour. She was also named a Rolex Junior All-American five times. Inbee won the U.S. Girls' Junior championship in 2002. She also played in some professional tournaments as an amateur, finishing in the top 10 a few times.

Inbee later graduated from Kwangwoon University in Seoul.

Becoming a Professional Golfer

Starting Her Pro Journey (2006-2008)

In 2006, after finishing high school, Inbee wanted to join the LPGA Tour. However, the rules said players had to be 18. So, she turned professional and played on the Duramed Futures Tour instead, where the age limit was 17. She did very well, finishing third on the money list. This earned her a spot on the LPGA Tour for 2007.

In her first year on the LPGA Tour in 2007, Inbee had some strong finishes. She tied for fourth at the U.S. Women's Open. In 2008, she achieved her first LPGA win at the U.S. Women's Open. At just 19 years old, she became the youngest player to win that title.

Ups and Downs (2009-2012)

After her big win in 2008, Inbee had a tougher year in 2009. But she bounced back in 2010, finishing in the top 10 at all four major tournaments. She also won twice on the LPGA of Japan Tour.

In 2011, her results weren't as strong. However, she made a big comeback in 2012. She won two LPGA Tour events and finished in the top three in 10 tournaments. She also earned the most money and had the best scoring average on the LPGA Tour that year.

Amazing Achievements (2013-2015)

The year 2013 was incredible for Inbee Park. She won her fourth LPGA Tour event early in the year. Then, in April, she won her second major title at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. The next week, she became the number one ranked golfer in the world!

She continued her winning streak, taking home the North Texas LPGA Shootout. In June, she won her second major of the year, the LPGA Championship. This made her only the seventh player in LPGA history to win the first two major championships of the year.

Just two weeks later, Inbee won her third major in a row at the U.S. Women's Open. This was a truly historic achievement, as only one other player had done this before. This win was also her sixth championship of 2013.

In 2014, Inbee won the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship on the Ladies European Tour. She also won her tenth LPGA Tour title at the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. In August, she won her fifth major championship, the LPGA Championship, for the second year in a row.

In 2015, Inbee continued her success. She won the HSBC Women's Champions and the Volunteers of America North Texas Shootout. In June, she won her sixth major, the Women's PGA Championship, for the third year in a row! This made her only the second player to achieve this feat.

Later in 2015, Inbee won her seventh major title at the Women's British Open. This victory meant she had won four different major championships in her career, completing a "career Grand Slam." She finished 2015 by winning the Lorena Ochoa Invitational and earning her second LPGA Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average.

Hall of Fame and Olympic Gold (2016-2018)

In 2016, Inbee Park was inducted into the LPGA Hall of Fame. At 27 years old, she was the youngest player ever to receive this honor.

In August 2016, Inbee made history again. She won the first Olympic gold medal in women's golf since 1900 at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. She beat the world number one player, Lydia Ko, by five strokes.

In 2017, Inbee won the HSBC Women's Champions again, setting a course record in the final round. In 2018, she won the Bank of Hope Founders Cup. She also finished second at the ANA Inspiration after a long playoff. After this, she regained her spot as the World number 1 golfer.
