About Insomniac Games
Insomniac Games began in 1994. Today, their main office is in Burbank, California. Their first game, Disruptor, came out on November 20, 1996. It was a first-person shooter game for the PlayStation. Critics really liked Disruptor, but it did not sell many copies.
After Disruptor, they created Spyro the Dragon for the PlayStation. This game series became very popular. Insomniac made the first three games in the Spyro series. Later, they no longer had the rights to make Spyro games.
So, Insomniac started working on a new game. It was called Girl with a Stick. But the people making the game didn't like it much. They decided to create the Ratchet & Clank series instead. The first game, Ratchet & Clank, was released on November 4, 2002. It got amazing reviews! Insomniac has made six more Ratchet & Clank games since then. The Ratchet & Clank games have sold 25 million copies.
In 2006, Insomniac released their first game for the PlayStation 3. This game was Resistance: Fall of Man. They released Resistance 2 in 2008. The final game in that series, Resistance 3, came out in 2011.
