What is this airport?
This airport is special because it is an "airport of entry." This means you can arrive here directly from another country. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has officers at the airport. They check people and goods entering Canada. However, they can only handle smaller planes with up to 15 passengers.
The airport is also used by the Royal Canadian Air Force. They use it as a "forward operating base" for their CF-18 Hornet military jets. This means it's a place where military planes can stop and operate from when needed.
