In 2020, about 2,707 people lived here. This number grew from 2,401 people in 2010. Inverness Highlands North is also part of the larger Homosassa Springs Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Where is Inverness Highlands North?
Inverness Highlands North is located in the eastern part of Citrus County. It sits right next to the northwest side of Inverness, which is the main city of the county.
To the north, you'll find the community of Hernando. To the northwest, it borders Citrus Hills. A road called State Road 44 runs along the southern edge of the area. This road goes east into Inverness and west about 14 miles (23 km) to Crystal River.
The total area of Inverness Highlands North is about 2.0 square miles (5.0 km²). Most of this area is land, about 1.9 square miles (4.9 km²). A small part, about 0.06 square miles (0.2 km²), is water.
