Iona's Location and Surroundings
Iona is located in the southwestern part of Lee County, Florida. It's near the coordinates 26°31′N 81°58′W / 26.517°N 81.967°W. To its west, you'll find Punta Rassa. To the east is Harlem Heights, and to the northeast is McGregor.
The northern border of Iona is the Caloosahatchee River. Across this river is the city of Cape Coral. The southern edge of Iona is marked by Summerlin Road. McGregor Boulevard is another important road that runs through the community. Iona is about 4 miles (6.4 km) northeast of the Sanibel Causeway that leads to Sanibel Island. It is also about 11 miles (18 km) southwest of the center of Fort Myers.
