Bridge over the Isábena

The Isábena is an important river in Spain. It's like a smaller river that flows into a bigger one. The Isábena joins the Ésera River, which then flows into the Cinca River. Finally, the Cinca River empties into the mighty Ebro River, and the Ebro flows all the way to the Mediterranean Sea.

The Isábena River

The Isábena River starts high up in the mountains, about 2,400 meters (that's over 7,800 feet) above sea level! It begins in a place called Es Sebollés, nestled between two tall peaks named Gallinero and Cibollés. These mountains are part of the amazing Pyrenees mountain range in a region called Aragon.

Where Does It Flow?

Most of the Isábena River's journey takes place in a beautiful area known as Ribagorza. As the river winds its way through the landscape, it flows between two impressive mountain ranges. On one side is the huge El Turbón mountain, and on the other are the Mountains of Sis. Imagine the river carving its path through these giant natural walls!
