Centerville Township is located in the state of Michigan, in the United States. It is part of Leelanau County. The township covers a total area of about 30.4 square miles (78.8 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, but about 2.7 square miles (7.0 square kilometers) is water.
A Look Back: History
Centerville Township was officially created in 1862. It was one of the very first five townships to be organized in Leelanau County. This means it has a long history in the region.

Bodus

Another ghost town in the northwest part of the township is called Good Harbor.
Isadore
Isadore is a small community in the southern part of the township. It's located at 44°52′40″N 85°46′25″W / 44.87778°N 85.77361°W.
- How it Started: Polish immigrants from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, first settled here around 1870. They came to farm the land.
- The Church and School: The first Roman Catholic Church in Isadore, called "Holy Rosary," was built in 1883. A school was added the next year.
- Name Change: The community was first called "Four Corners." Its name was changed to honor Saint Isadore, who is known as the patron saint of farmers.
- Later Buildings: A new Catholic school was built in 1905. The current Holy Rosary Catholic Church, made of brick, was built in 1922. A high school was added later and operated until 1961.
- Isadore Today: Today, the main intersection in Isadore has the church, the old school (which closed in 1999), a rectory (a house for a priest), a cemetery, and a few homes. All of this is surrounded by rolling farmlands.
