Isaiah De Vonte Cousins (born March 13, 1994) is an American professional basketball player. He plays for Inter Bratislava in the Slovak Basketball League (SBL) and the European North Basketball League (ENBL). Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the University of Oklahoma. He has also played professionally in the NBA G League, France, and Israel.

Early Basketball Days
High School Success
Isaiah Cousins played high school basketball at Mount Vernon. His coach was Bob Cimmino. In his final year, he was a star player. He scored about 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and made 4 assists per game. He also had 3 steals per game.
Isaiah helped his team achieve an impressive 23 wins and only 3 losses. They won the New York Public High School Athletic Association Class AA state championship for the second year in a row. When he finished high school, he was recognized as a top player. He was named "Mr. Basketball" for his area in New York.
College Journey
After high school, Isaiah went on to play for the Oklahoma Sooners. He played for four seasons, from 2012 to 2016. For most of his college career, he played as a shooting guard. In his senior year, he switched to playing as a point guard.
In his senior season, Isaiah teamed up with another great player, Buddy Hield. Together, they led the Sooners to the Final Four, which is the semi-final stage of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. During this season, Isaiah averaged 12.6 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. His strong performance earned him a spot on the third-team All-Big 12 list.
Professional Basketball Career
Starting in the NBA G League
On June 23, 2016, Isaiah Cousins was chosen by the Sacramento Kings in the 2016 NBA draft. He was the 59th player picked overall. He then joined the Kings for the 2016 NBA Summer League. Later, he signed with the Kings but was released before the regular season began.
A few days later, he joined the Reno Bighorns. This team is part of the NBA Development League, now known as the NBA G League. He played for the Bighorns during the 2016–2017 season.
Moving to Salt Lake City
In October 2017, Isaiah's player rights were traded to the Salt Lake City Stars. This team is also in the NBA G League. He played for them during the 2017–2018 season.
Playing in France
In April 2018, Isaiah signed with Cholet Basket. This team plays in the LNB Pro A, which is a top basketball league in France. He played for them for the rest of that season.
Back to Salt Lake City
Isaiah returned to the Salt Lake City Stars for the 2018–2019 season. Before that, he briefly signed with the Utah Jazz but was released after playing in some preseason games.
Playing in Israel and Greece
From 2019 to 2020, Isaiah played for Hapoel Jerusalem in the Israeli Basketball Premier League. He then moved to Greece and signed with Peristeri in January 2020.
Later in 2020, he returned to Israel to play for Hapoel Gilboa Galil for the 2020–2021 season. In November 2021, he signed with Aris in Greece. However, due to an injury, he was not able to play and soon left the team.
Recent Teams
In January 2022, Isaiah joined Kalev/Cramo in Estonia. This team plays in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. In March 2022, he was acquired by the Maine Celtics in the NBA G League.
From 2022 to 2023, he played for Maccabi Rishon LeZion in Israel. In March 2023, he signed with Hapoel Haifa, another team in the Israeli Premier League.
More recently, he played for Krka in Slovenia from 2023 to 2024. In 2024, he also played for KK Bosna in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Currently, he plays for Inter Bratislava in Slovakia.
Personal Life
Isaiah Cousins is the son of Lisa Cousins. He studied human relations in college.
