Ishani Shrestha's Early Life
Ishani Shrestha was born and grew up in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Her parents were also from Kathmandu. She has three younger brothers and sisters. Ishani went to Triyog High School in Kathmandu. Later, she moved to Boulder, Colorado, in the United States. She graduated from Fairview High School in 2009. After high school, she studied business at the University of Colorado.

Becoming Miss Nepal 2013
Ishani traveled all the way from Colorado, United States, to compete in Miss Nepal 2013. She won the main title, becoming Miss Nepal World 2013. She also won a special award called Miss Catwalk during the competition.
Competing in Miss World 2013
Ishani Shrestha received the "Beauty with Purpose 2013" award at Miss World. She earned this award for her amazing video and social work. She traveled to villages in Nepal to teach people about keeping their teeth and mouths healthy.
Ishani was one of only eleven contestants chosen to show her country's culture through dance. She performed a beautiful dance to the song "Maiti Ghar" for the "Dances of The World" event. She also placed second runner-up in the Multimedia competition at Miss World 2013. She was a finalist in several other parts of the contest too.
Ishani Shrestha made it to the top 10 finalists at Miss World 2013. This was the highest a contestant from Nepal had ever reached before! She was even placed as a Top 5 finalist. However, the rules for the top five that year were different, and judges made the final decision on who would continue.
