About Isolda Dychauk
Isolda Dychauk was born in 1993 in Surgut, a city in West Siberia, Russia. In 2002, she moved to Berlin, Germany, with her mother. She already spoke Russian, her first language. She quickly learned to speak German very well, without any accent.
In 2003, Isolda joined an acting school in Berlin called Next Generation. She started her acting career in 2004. Her first role was in a short film called Gimme your shoes. Anika Wangard directed this film. It was shown at the Vienna International Film Festival in October 2009.
Early Acting Roles
In 2007, Isolda appeared in a family drama called Das Geheimnis meiner Schwester. She acted alongside the famous actress Marianne Sägebrecht. Later in 2007, she got the role of Paula in the TV movie Nichts ist Vergessen.
Over the next few years, Isolda acted in several popular German TV series. These included Polizeiruf 110, Tatort, and The Old Fox. These shows helped her gain more experience and become known.
First Film Roles
In 2008, Isolda got her first role in a movie. She played Bianca in a youth drama called Mein Freund aus Faro. Nana Neul directed this film.
A big role for Isolda came in 2010. She played Gretchen in the movie Faust. This film was directed by Alexander Sokurov. The movie was based on a famous play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. In September 2011, Faust won a very important award. It received the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. This was a huge achievement for the film and for Isolda.
Starring in Borgia
From 2011 to 2014, Isolda starred in a big European TV series called Borgia. In this show, she played the role of Lucrezia Borgia. Lucrezia's father was Rodrigo Borgia, who later became Pope Alexander VI. The American actor John Doman played her father.
Filming for the first season of Borgia took place between October 2010 and May 2011. They filmed in Prague's Barrandov Studios. The series was very popular. A second season was released, and the third and final season came out on Netflix in the fall of 2014.
In 2016, it was announced that Isolda would perform at the Salzburg Festival in 2017. This was her first time at this famous festival. She appeared in a play called Lulu, directed by Athina Rachel Tsangari.
