John Doman is an American actor. He is famous for his roles in many TV shows and movies. You might know him as Bill Rawls from the HBO series The Wire. He also played Colonel Edward Galson in Oz and Dr. Deraad in ER.
John Doman also starred as Rodrigo Borgia in the international TV series Borgia. He was Don Carmine Falcone in Fox's show Gotham. Another role was Bruce Buttler in The Affair.

Early Life and Education
John Doman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went to Northeast Catholic High School. He graduated in 1962. While there, he was a great football player. He was even named an All-Catholic League player. He is also in the school's Hall of Fame.
Doman then went to the University of Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature in 1966. He played football for the Quakers team from 1963 to 1965. He was a starting defensive back for three years.
Later, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree. This was from Pennsylvania State University in 1972. This degree was in marketing.
Between his time at the two universities, Doman served in the United States Marine Corps. He started at the Officer Candidates School. In March 1967, he became a Second Lieutenant. He served with the 3rd Marine Division during the Vietnam War.
After his service, Doman worked in advertising for almost 20 years. He started at SSC&B Advertising. He was one of the first employees at TBWA New York in 1977. He became an Executive Vice President. He was in charge of finding new business. In 1991, he changed his career. He became a full-time actor after being cast in an AT&T commercial.

John Doman has appeared in many movies. These include Cop Land and Mystic River. He also had roles in The Opponent and Die Hard with a Vengeance. In 2004, he was in Sniper 3.
He has also been in many TV shows. He was a guest star in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Shakaar". He played Dr. Carl Deraad in ER. He was also Walter Kendrick in Damages.
Doman has also done voice acting for video games. He was the voice of Don Morello in Mafia: City of Lost Heaven. He also voiced Caesar in Fallout New Vegas. You might have heard his voice in commercials for Michelin tires and Home Depot. Since 2013, he has narrated videos for the Philadelphia Eagles.
He has played many different characters in the Law & Order TV shows. He appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In total, he has played 11 different characters in the Law & Order world.
From 2010 to 2011, Doman was in three episodes of Rizzoli & Isles. He played a mob enforcer. This role brought him back together with Sasha Alexander. They had worked together before in an episode of NCIS.
Other roles include Senator Ross Garrison in Person of Interest. He was Helen's father in the drama The Affair. He also played Bishop Charles Eddis in House of Cards. He was the U.S. Ambassador to Germany in Berlin Station. Doman has also performed in plays on stage.
