John Doman is an American actor. He is well-known for his roles in popular TV shows. Some of his most famous characters include Bill Rawls in The Wire and Don Carmine Falcone in Gotham. He also played Rodrigo Borgia in the international series Borgia.
Early Life and Education
Growing Up in Philadelphia
John Doman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went to Northeast Catholic High School. He was a great football player there and is even in the school's Hall of Fame.
College and Military Service
After high school, Doman studied English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. While at UPenn, he played football for the Quakers team. Later, he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1972.
Between his college years, Doman served in the United States Marine Corps. He became a Second Lieutenant in 1967. He served with the 3rd Marine Division during the Vietnam War.
From Advertising to Acting
After his studies, Doman worked in the advertising business for almost 20 years. He started at SSC&B Advertising. He was also one of the first employees at TBWA New York when it opened in 1977. He became an Executive Vice President there. In 1991, Doman decided to change his career. He became a full-time actor after being cast in a commercial for AT&T.

John Doman has appeared in many films and TV shows. He had small roles in movies like Cop Land and Mystic River. He also appeared in Die Hard with a Vengeance. In 2004, he was in the action film Sniper 3.
On television, he was a guest star in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He played Dr. Carl Deraad in ER. He also played Walter Kendrick in Damages.
Voice Acting and Narrating
Doman has also lent his voice to video games. He was the voice of Don Morello in Mafia: City of Lost Heaven. He also voiced Caesar in the video game Fallout New Vegas. You might have heard his voice in commercials for Michelin tires and Home Depot. Since 2013, he has narrated videos for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Throughout his career, Doman has played many different characters in the Law & Order shows. He appeared in Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. In total, he has played 11 different characters in this popular franchise.
From 2010 to 2011, Doman appeared in Rizzoli & Isles as a mob enforcer. He also played Rodrigo Borgia in the Borgia series from 2011 to 2014.
Other notable roles include Senator Ross Garrison in Person of Interest. He played Helen's father in the show The Affair. He was also Bishop Charles Eddis in House of Cards.
