Olympic Games Success

Israel Rubio competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece. He took part in the men's 62 kg weightlifting event. He originally finished in fourth place.

However, he later received a bronze medal. This happened because another athlete, Leonidas Sampanis, lost his medal. Sampanis's medal was taken away due to a rule violation. This moved Israel Rubio up to third place.

He also competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics. In this competition, he lifted a total of 306 kg. He finished in 13th place in the men's 69 kg weightlifting event.
