Ithan (pronounced EYE-thun) is a small village and neighborhood. It's located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, which is west of Philadelphia. It used to be called Radnorville. Ithan is generally considered to be the area about half a mile on either side of the Blue Route highway.

What is Ithan?

Ithan is centered around the meeting point of Radnor Chester and Conestoga Roads. This is where the Radnor Friends Meetinghouse is located. It's about three-quarters of a mile south of Lancaster Avenue. This area is part of the famous Main Line. Ithan includes the large Ardrossan estate. It also has a small community called Banjo Town to the west. The Agnes Irwin School is located to the east.

Where is Ithan Located?

This community is right in the middle of Radnor Township. It's southeast of Wayne. Most of Ithan is made up of homes. There is a small area with businesses on the north side of the Meetinghouse.

Ithan's Growth and Development

Before the 1980s, Ithan was mostly rural. This means it had more open land and fewer buildings. It was not very developed. However, the population in the Delaware Valley started to grow a lot. Ithan's location near the Main Line made it a popular place. Because of this, Ithan has become one of the most desired suburbs near Philadelphia.
