Ivan McFarlin (born April 26, 1982) is an American former professional basketball player. He played basketball in high school, college, and professionally for many years.

Ivan McFarlin's Basketball Journey
Ivan McFarlin started his basketball journey in high school. He later became a successful college player and played professionally around the world.
High School and College Success
Ivan went to Willowridge High School in Houston, Texas. In his senior year, he led his team to win the state championship. He was a great player, averaging almost 16 points and 15 rebounds per game. He also had many blocks and steals.
After high school, Ivan played college basketball at Oklahoma State University. He helped the Oklahoma State Cowboys team reach the Final Four in 2004. This is a very important stage in the college basketball championship. The team narrowly lost to Georgia Tech in a close game.
Ivan is one of only four Oklahoma State players to achieve a special record. He scored over 1,000 points, grabbed over 700 rebounds, and made over 100 blocks. The other players with this record are Byron Houston, Leroy Combs, and Bryant Reeves.
Professional Career Highlights
In the 2006-07 NBA season, Ivan McFarlin was part of the Philadelphia 76ers team. On December 19, 2006, he was part of a big trade. He was traded along with NBA superstar Allen Iverson for two draft picks, Andre Miller, and Joe Smith. After the trade, Ivan was immediately waived, meaning he was released from the team.
After his time in the NBA, Ivan played basketball in different countries. He played in Poland for SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg. In 2010, he joined the Bendigo Braves in Australia, playing in the South East Australian Basketball League. He was a standout player there, making the league's all-star team. He also led the league in total rebounds and rebounds per game.
Later in 2010, Ivan signed with Hapoel Lev HaSharon in Israel. He played in the Liga Leumit, which is a professional basketball league in Israel.
Ivan returned to play for the Bendigo Braves in Australia in 2011. He also played in China in 2012. In 2013, the Bendigo Braves announced that Ivan would be coming back for a third season with their team.
Life After Basketball
Ivan McFarlin is the son of Delphine and Tyrone Powell McFarlin. They live in Missouri City, Texas.
Today, Ivan lives in Stillwater, Oklahoma. This is the same town where he went to college at Oklahoma State University. He helps out with the Oklahoma State basketball program. He also works part-time in another job.
In May 2019, Ivan became the head coach for the Ponca City Boys High School basketball team in Oklahoma. In 2023, he was named the head coach for both the Agra High School and Middle School basketball teams.
