Ivica Brzić was born in Novi Sad, a city that was part of the Kingdom of Hungary at the time. This was during World War II, a very challenging period in history.
Playing Career: Ivica Brzić on the Field
Ivica Brzić started his professional football journey with the club Novi Sad. He helped them get promoted to the top league in Yugoslavia in the 1960–61 season. He played regularly for Novi Sad for three years.
Playing for Vojvodina: A League Champion
In 1965, Brzić joined Vojvodina, which was a very important club for him. He played a key role in helping Vojvodina win the Yugoslav First League title in the 1965–66 season. This was a huge achievement for the club! He stayed with Vojvodina for about seven and a half years, playing in 200 league games and scoring five goals.
Playing Abroad: Austria Adventures
Later in his career, in 1972, Brzić moved to Austria. He played for two Austrian clubs: DSV Alpine and VÖEST Linz. He played for these teams for a few seasons before he decided to retire from playing football in 1976.
International Career: Representing Yugoslavia
Ivica Brzić also had the honor of playing for his country, Yugoslavia. He played one match against the Soviet Union in 1966. He was also chosen to be part of the national team for the UEFA Euro 1968 tournament. Although he didn't play in any matches during the tournament, Yugoslavia reached the final and finished as runners-up, which was a great success!

After he stopped playing, Ivica Brzić became a football manager. He first worked with the youth teams at Vojvodina before becoming an assistant coach for the senior team in 1977. The next year, at just 37 years old, he became the head manager of Vojvodina.

One of his most notable coaching jobs was with the Spanish club Osasuna from 1983 to 1986. Under his leadership, Osasuna qualified for European football for the very first time in their history! This was a huge moment for the club and showed Brzić's skill as a manager.
Coaching in South America: Peru and Beyond
During the 1990s and early 2000s, Brzić spent several years coaching in Peru. He managed well-known clubs like Universitario and Alianza Lima. He even won the Torneo Descentralizado (Peruvian league title) with Universitario in 1992. He also coached in Bolivia for a short time.
