Izatullo Khayoyev (born June 22, 1936 – died April 25, 2015) was an important political leader in Tajikistan. He was the very first Vice President of Tajikistan and later the first Prime Minister of Tajikistan. Before these roles, he also served as a top government official in the Tajik SSR.

Serving as Chairman of the Council of Ministers

Becoming Vice President of Tajikistan

In December 1990, Izatullo Khayoyev became the first Vice President of Tajikistan. He served in this position until June 25, 1991. As Vice President, he worked alongside the president. He helped lead the country during a period of significant political change.

After his time as Vice President, Khayoyev took on another historic role. On June 25, 1991, he became the first Prime Minister of Tajikistan. He served as Prime Minister until January 9, 1992.
