Jájome Bajo is a small community, also known as a barrio, located in the beautiful municipality of Cayey, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 519 people called this place home. It's known for its pretty views, like the sunsets you can see there.
A Look Back in Time
Puerto Rico has a long and interesting history. After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This happened because of a special agreement called the Treaty of Paris of 1898.
Because of this treaty, Puerto Rico became an unincorporated territory of the United States. This means it's part of the U.S. but doesn't have all the same rights as a state.
