Jörg Böhme is a German former football player. He was born on January 22, 1974. He played as a midfielder, a player who controls the middle of the field. Later, he became a football manager. His last team as a manager was Energie Cottbus.

Playing for Football Clubs
Jörg Böhme was born in Hohenmölsen, a town in East Germany. He played for many different football clubs during his career. These included FC Carl Zeiss Jena and 1. FC Nürnberg. He also played for Eintracht Frankfurt and 1860 München. Later, he joined Arminia Bielefeld.
One of his most successful times was with FC Schalke 04. With Schalke 04, he won the German Cup twice. This is a very important trophy in German football. After Schalke, he played for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
In May 2006, he returned to his old club, Arminia Bielefeld. He played there for two more seasons. Jörg Böhme stopped playing professional football in 2008.
Playing for Germany
Jörg Böhme also played for the German national team. He played 10 matches for his country between 2001 and 2003. He scored one goal for Germany.
He was part of the German team that played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Germany did very well in this tournament. They finished as the runners-up, meaning they came in second place. Jörg Böhme was chosen for the team because he was good with his left foot. He was also skilled at taking set pieces, like free kicks and corners.
Becoming a Coach
After he stopped playing, Jörg Böhme started a coaching career. He was the head coach of a team called Herford for a short time in 2012.
On January 22, 2014, Böhme joined Energie Cottbus as an assistant coach. Soon after, he became the main head coach for the team. His first match as head coach was a 1–0 win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. However, he was later removed from his role. This happened after the club was moved down to a lower league.
