Jörg Böhme, born on January 22, 1974, is a former German footballer. He played as a midfielder during his career. After retiring as a player, he became a football manager. His last role was managing Energie Cottbus.

Playing Career: A Journey Through Clubs
Jörg Böhme was born in a town called Hohenmölsen in East Germany. He played for many different football clubs as a professional. Some of these clubs include FC Carl Zeiss Jena, 1. FC Nürnberg, Eintracht Frankfurt, and 1860 München.
Success with Schalke 04
Böhme also played for Arminia Bielefeld and FC Schalke 04. With Schalke 04, he achieved great success. He helped the team win the German Cup twice. These wins happened in the 2000–01 and 2001–02 seasons.
Returning to Arminia Bielefeld
After playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach, Böhme returned to his old club, Arminia Bielefeld. He signed a contract for the 2006–07 season. He stayed with Bielefeld for two seasons. Jörg Böhme officially retired from playing football in 2008.
International Career: Playing for Germany
Jörg Böhme also had the honor of playing for the German national team. He played 10 matches for his country between 2001 and 2003. During this time, he scored one goal for Germany.
World Cup Experience
He was part of the German squad for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This was a very exciting tournament held in Korea and Japan. Germany performed very well in the World Cup that year. They reached the final match, finishing as runners-up. Böhme was chosen for the national team because he was very good with his left foot. Böhme was the head coach of SC Herford for a short time in 2012. He then joined Energie Cottbus as an assistant coach on January 22, 2014.
Leading Energie Cottbus
He was promoted to head coach of Energie Cottbus on February 24, 2014. This happened after the previous coach, Stephan Schmidt, left the team. Böhme's first match as head coach was a 1–0 win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern. This victory took place on February 28, 2014. He coached the team until May 2014.
