Jabari Carl Bird, born on July 3, 1994, is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Johor Southern Tigers in Malaysia's Major Basketball League (MBL). Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for the California Golden Bears. The Boston Celtics picked him in the 2017 NBA draft.

High School Basketball
Jabari played basketball at Salesian High School. He helped his team, the Salesian Pride, win many games. They had an amazing record of 100 wins and only 8 losses over three years. He was also chosen as a McDonald's All-American. This means he was one of the best high school players in the country in 2013.
College Basketball Career
While playing for the University of California, Berkeley, Jabari had a great senior year. He scored about 14.3 points and grabbed 4.7 rebounds in each game.
Professional Basketball Career
Playing for the Boston Celtics (2017–2019)
After finishing college, Jabari was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the 2017 NBA draft. He was the 56th player picked overall. On September 5, 2017, the Celtics signed him to a special contract. This contract allowed him to play for both the Celtics and their minor league team, the Maine Red Claws.
Jabari played his first professional game on October 20, 2017. It was against the Philadelphia 76ers. He played for 13 minutes and scored 3 points. The Celtics won that game 108–98.
In February 2018, Jabari and his teammate Kadeem Allen were named to a special team. They were recognized as top players in the NBA G League East. At that time, Jabari was averaging 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game.
On April 6, 2018, Jabari scored 15 points in a game against the Chicago Bulls. The Celtics re-signed Jabari in July 2018. However, he did not play for the Celtics during the 2018–19 season.
In February 2019, Jabari was traded to the Atlanta Hawks. He was then released by the Hawks the very next day.
Playing in Mexico (2023)
In 2023, Jabari joined the Rayos de Hermosillo team. They play in a league called CIBACOPA in Mexico.
Playing in Indonesia (2023–2024)
On November 30, 2023, Jabari joined the Rajawali Medan team. This team is a new part of the Indonesian Basketball League.
Playing in the Philippines (2024)
On September 26, 2024, Jabari signed with the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots. This team plays in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He joined them to replace another player for a tournament called the 2024 PBA Governors' Cup.
Playing in Malaysia (2024–Present)
In December 2024, Jabari joined the Johor Southern Tigers. This team plays in the Major Basketball League Malaysia (MBL).

Personal Life
Jabari's father, Carl Bird, also played college basketball. He played for the California Golden Bears from 1974 to 1976. Carl was also picked in the 1976 NBA draft. He played professionally in the Philippines. There, he was the first player in the Philippine Basketball Association to score more than 70 points in a single game!
