The Exciting Story of Jack Holborn
Jack Holborn is a 13-year-old boy living in an orphanage. This was in the late 1700s in a city called Bristol, England. Jack was found as a baby on the steps of a convent in Holborn, London. He had a leather armband with the name "Jack" on it. So, the nuns named him Jack Holborn.
Jack's Quest for Answers
Jack dreams of going to sea and having adventures. But instead, he is sent to live with a foster family. Jack doesn't give up on his dream. He runs away to try and join the crew of a ship called the "Charming Molly." This ship is a privateering vessel. A privateer was like a pirate, but they had permission from their government to attack enemy ships.
The "Charming Molly" is led by Captain Sheringham. When the Captain sees Jack's armband, he seems to recognize it. But he won't tell Jack what he knows. He also refuses to let Jack join his crew.
A Journey Full of Danger
Jack is desperate to find out where he came from. He won't let the Captain off the hook easily. Meanwhile, Captain Sheringham has a twin brother, Lord Sheringham. Lord Sheringham is a judge. He dislikes his brother because of his dealings with pirates. The judge plans to bring the Captain to justice.
Jack eventually finds a way to sneak onto the "Charming Molly." This is how his amazing journey begins. His adventures will include facing piracy and traveling through dangerous swamps. He will also encounter many tough situations as he searches for the truth about his family.
