John Wayne "Jack" Norris (born August 5, 1942) is a Canadian retired ice hockey goaltender. He played professional hockey for several teams in the NHL and the WHA.
Jack Norris: A Goalie's Journey
Jack Norris was a professional ice hockey player. He was known for his role as a goaltender. Goaltenders are the players who protect the net. Their main job is to stop the puck from going in.
Playing in the NHL
Jack Norris played in the National Hockey League (NHL). This is one of the top ice hockey leagues. He played for three different NHL teams. He was with the Boston Bruins for 23 games. He also played 10 games for the Chicago Black Hawks. Later, he joined the Los Angeles Kings for 25 games.
Time in Other Leagues
Even though he played in the NHL, Jack spent most of his career in other leagues. These are sometimes called "minor leagues." They are still professional, but not the very top level.
He also played in the World Hockey Association (WHA). The WHA was another major league at the time. Jack played two seasons for the Alberta/Edmonton Oilers. He then played two seasons with the Phoenix Roadrunners. He stopped playing professional hockey after the 1975-76 WHA season.
