Jack Thomas Nowell was born on April 11, 1993. He is an English professional rugby union player. He currently plays for La Rochelle in France. Jack also plays for the England national team. He usually plays as a wing. Sometimes, he also plays as a full-back or an outside centre.

Playing for Exeter Chiefs
Jack Nowell started his rugby journey in the junior team of Cornish Pirates. He went to school at Mounts Bay Academy and then Truro College. There, he studied Sport Performance and Excellence.
Nowell made his first big debut in Premiership Rugby on November 25, 2012. He played for Exeter Chiefs in a match they won against London Irish. He quickly became a key player for the Chiefs. For the 2012–13 season, he won the LV=Breakthrough Player Award.
In May 2016, Nowell helped Exeter reach their first ever Premiership final. They finished second in the league that season. Even though Nowell scored a try in the final, Exeter finished as runners-up to Saracens.
The very next season, Nowell scored another try in the league final. This time, Exeter beat Wasps in extra-time. This win gave them their first ever Premiership title.
Nowell also played in the 2020 European Rugby Champions Cup Final. Exeter won this match against Racing, becoming champions of Europe for the first time. The following weekend, Exeter beat Wasps again in the Premiership final. This meant they won both the league and European titles in the same season.
Jack Nowell's International Career
Playing for England
In the summer of 2011, Jack Nowell was part of the England under-18 team. They went on a tour to Australia. He also played for the England national under-20 team in 2013. This team won the 2013 Six Nations Under 20s Championship.
Nowell was chosen for the 2013 IRB Junior World Championship. He scored a try in the final game. England beat Wales to become junior world champions for the first time.
In January 2014, Nowell was called up to the senior England squad. This was for the 2014 Six Nations Championship. He made his first appearance for England on February 1, 2014. England lost that game to France. He scored his first international try later that year against Italy.
He also played in the 2015 Six Nations Championship. He scored his first try at Twickenham Stadium against Scotland. In the final game against France, England needed to win by at least 27 points. Nowell scored two tries, but England did not reach the target. They finished second to Ireland.
Nowell was part of the squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. He played only one game in the tournament. He scored three tries against Uruguay. England did not make it past the group stage that year. Jack is one of only six players to score three tries in a Rugby World Cup match for England.
New coach Eddie Jones picked Nowell for the 2016 Six Nations Championship. Jack scored a try in their first game against Scotland. He played in all five games. England beat France to win their first Grand Slam in over ten years.
Later that year, he scored a try against Australia during England's 2016 tour. England won all three games in that series. In the 2017 Six Nations, Nowell scored two tries against Italy. England lost to Ireland in the final game, missing out on another Grand Slam. This loss also ended their record of eighteen straight wins.
Nowell scored a try in a draw with Scotland in the 2019 Six Nations. He was part of the England squad that finished second at the 2019 Rugby World Cup. Due to an injury, he only played one game. He scored a try against Argentina. After this World Cup, he did not play for England again until the 2022 Six Nations.
Playing for British and Irish Lions
In April 2017, Nowell was chosen for the 2017 British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. He was the first player from Exeter Chiefs to be picked for the Lions. He played as a substitute in the second and third games. The series ended in a draw.
