Jackie James Barnes is a talented Australian drummer and singer. He has been performing music since he was just four years old. Jackie is the only son of famous musician Jimmy Barnes and his wife, Jane.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings
Jackie James Barnes was born in Sydney, Australia. He is the third child of Jimmy Barnes and Jane. His sisters are Mahalia, Eliza-Jane "E.J.", and Elly-May Barnes. Jackie was named after the famous soul singer Jackie Wilson. His family background includes Scottish-Jewish heritage from his father and Thai heritage from his mother.
Jackie also has an older half-brother, David Campbell, who is a singer and actor. He has three half-sisters as well.
Starting Music Young
When Jackie was only four years old, he joined his older sisters, Eliza-Jane and Mahalia, in the recording studio. They sang in the children's choir for their father's album, Two Fires. Their voices can be heard on the song "When Your Love is Gone".
At age five, Jackie became part of a children's singing group called the Tin Lids. He sang with his sisters Eliza-Jane, Elly-May, and Mahalia. The Tin Lids released three albums between 1991 and 1994. All of these albums sold very well, reaching platinum sales. One of their albums, Snakes & Ladders (1992), was even nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Children's Album in 1993.
Education and Touring
After finishing high school, Jackie started touring with his father, Jimmy Barnes. He played the keyboard for the band. In 2005, Jackie successfully tried out for the role of drummer and backing singer in the Jimmy Barnes Band. He then toured all over Australia and internationally with them. He even recorded a song called "Same Woman" as a duet with his father. This song was on the 2005 album Double Happiness, which became a number one hit in Australia.
In 2010, Jackie graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree, focusing on drum performance.
Music Career and Collaborations
Jackie Barnes has worked with many different artists throughout his career. These include his uncle, Diesel, Keith Urban, The Dead Daisies, The Wiggles, and Glenn Hughes.
Drumming and Touring Highlights
In 2007, Jackie played drums on his father's album Out in the Blue. He also played drums for the DVD Max Sessions- Live at the Sydney Opera House. In 2008, he played drums on the Live at the Enmore DVD for Jimmy Barnes.
In 2013, Jackie toured around the world with the Australian classical/pop group the Ten Tenors. After that, he joined a rock band from Los Angeles called Heaven and Earth. He toured Europe extensively with them, even performing at the famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. In 2014, he joined third series winner Reece Mastin for his Wolf in the Woods tour in Australia. He also recorded and toured for his father Jimmy Barnes' album 30:30 Hindsight. This album celebrated Jimmy's 30th year as a solo artist.
In early 2015, Jackie joined the rock supergroup the Dead Daisies. He recorded their album Revoluciòn with them. Later that year, he started playing drums for the Australian blues/funk band, the Lachy Doley Group.
Working with The Wiggles
Starting in 2016, Jackie Barnes began working with the popular children's music group the Wiggles. He has recorded drums on all of their new music. He has also helped write songs for them. He worked on the album Och Aye the G'nu, which was released in March 2017. His sisters Mahalia and Elly-May also sang on this album. Och Aye the G'nu won the 2017 ARIA Award for Best Children's Album.
In August 2018, Jackie joined the band Rose Tattoo for their European tour.
