Jacob Banks is a talented singer and songwriter. He was born in Nigeria on July 24, 1991, and grew up in Birmingham, England. Jacob Banks is known for his unique music style. It mixes different sounds like soul, R&B, and hip hop.
Jacob Banks first became known when he won two music competitions in 2012. These were the MOBO UnSung competition in Birmingham and the Adidas "Are You In" music competition. Today, he works with the American music company Interscope Records.

Jacob Banks' Music Journey
Early Career and First Songs
Jacob Banks started his music journey in 2012. In October of that year, he recorded his first collection of songs, called an EP. This EP, named The Monologue, was released in January 2013. One of the songs from it, "Worthy", became very popular. It was played on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Zane Lowe. Other radio stations like 1Xtra and XFM also played his music.
In April 2013, Jacob Banks performed his first big show in London. He also joined famous singer Emeli Sande on her UK tour that same month. Jacob Banks has worked with many other artists too. He sang on Wretch 32's song "Doing OK" and Chase and Status's song "Alive". He even toured with Chase and Status in 2013. He has also collaborated with artists like Bondax and Plan B.
New Music and Albums
On July 21, 2015, Jacob Banks released his second EP, called The Paradox. This EP included a song called "Monster" with rapper Avelino. In 2016, he worked with a Norwegian music team called Seeb. Their song together, "What Do You Love", became very popular in Norway, reaching number 2 on their music charts.
In March 2017, Jacob Banks released a special two-part music video for his song "Unholy War". He wrote and helped direct this video himself. This song was part of his EP, The Boy Who Cried Freedom. Later, in November 2018, he released his album called Village. This album quickly became number one on Spotify's list of new and upcoming albums.
Jacob Banks continued to release new music. His album Lies About the War came out on August 26, 2022. More recently, his album Our Time Together was released on July 11, 2024. He also has a series of EPs called Yonder, with Yonder: Book I released in November 2024, Yonder: Book II in January 2025, and Yonder: Book III in March 2025.
