Jaden Hill, born on December 22, 1999, is a professional baseball player. He is a pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, a team in Major League Baseball (MLB). Before joining the pros, Jaden played college baseball for the LSU Tigers.

Jaden Hill's Early Baseball Days
Jaden Hill grew up in Ashdown, Arkansas. He went to Ashdown High School. There, he was a talented athlete, playing both baseball and American football.
In July 2017, Jaden was invited to play in a special game. It was the Under Armour All-American Game at Wrigley Field. This is a big honor for young players.
During his senior year in 2018, Jaden had an amazing baseball season. He won seven games and didn't lose any. His earned run average (ERA) was very low, at 0.51. This means he didn't let many opposing players score runs. He also hit very well, with a .540 batting average and 11 home runs. Because of his great performance, he was named the Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year.
After high school, the St. Louis Cardinals picked Jaden in the 2018 MLB draft. However, he decided not to sign with them. Instead, he chose to go to Louisiana State University (LSU). He wanted to play college baseball for the LSU Tigers.
Playing College Baseball at LSU
Jaden's first year at LSU was in 2019. He started two games as a pitcher. But after only two innings, he had to have surgery on his collarbone. This injury meant he couldn't play for the rest of the season.
Before his injury, Jaden had a great start. In his very first college game, he pitched five innings without letting any runs score. He also struck out eight batters. This earned him the title of SEC Freshman of the Week.
In 2020, Jaden was healthy again. He started pitching from the bullpen, which means he came into games after the starting pitcher. He pitched almost 12 innings without giving up any runs. However, the season ended early because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In April 2021, Jaden faced another challenge. He tore a ligament in his right elbow. This injury required a surgery called Tommy John surgery. This type of surgery is common for baseball pitchers. It meant he missed the rest of that season too. Before his injury, he had started seven games. He had two wins and three losses, with 25 strikeouts.
Jaden Hill's Professional Journey
The Colorado Rockies chose Jaden Hill in the 2021 Major League Baseball draft. He was the 44th player picked overall. Jaden signed with the Rockies and received a $1.7 million bonus.
After his Tommy John surgery, Jaden worked hard to recover. By mid-June 2022, he was able to start throwing to batters again.
Jaden began his professional career in July 2022. He played for the Arizona Complex League Rockies, which is a team for new players. After seven starts there, he moved up to the Fresno Grizzlies. This team plays in a league called Single-A. Between these two teams, Jaden pitched almost 18 innings. He had a good ERA of 3.06, with 25 strikeouts.
For the 2023 season, Jaden played for the Spokane Indians. This team is in the High-A league. He started 16 games that year. After the season, he was chosen to play in the Arizona Fall League for the Salt River Rafters. This league helps players improve their skills.
In 2024, Jaden started the season with the Hartford Yard Goats. This team is in the Double-A league. He had a 3.52 ERA and 56 strikeouts. He also earned 6 saves in 34 games. A save means he finished the game and helped his team win.
Because of his strong performance, Jaden was promoted to the Triple-A team, the Albuquerque Isotopes. On September 5, 2024, Jaden Hill was called up to the major leagues for the very first time! He played in 9 games for the Colorado Rockies during his first year in MLB. He pitched almost 11 innings and had 6 strikeouts.
To start the 2025 season, Jaden was sent back to the Triple-A Albuquerque Isotopes. He continues to work hard and develop his skills.
