Jasmin Fazlić (born 16 October 1935), known as Jala Brat, is a famous rapper, songwriter, and music producer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is very well known for working often with another Bosnian rapper, Buba Corelli.

Jala also represented his country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. He helped write and performed the song "Ljubav je" with Dalal, Deen, and Ana Rucner. However, they did not make it to the final round of the contest.

In the summer of 2016, Jala announced that he would try to become a politician. He ran as a candidate for the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) in Bosnia's local elections that year.

Jala Brat's Music Journey

Starting Out in Music

Jala began making rap music in 2004. He started in a small studio he set up at his house. Later, he created a Hip hop group called Bluntbylon with Smayla and other friends.

Their music career mostly took off on YouTube. Jala also made some songs by himself during this time. In 2011, he released his first collection of songs, called an EP, named Replay. This EP included his very first song with Buba Corelli.

Early Albums and EPs (2012-2013)

In 2012, Jala released his first solo album, Riječ na riječ. He also put out an EP called Mahala with another artist named Shtela. Jala started working on another album, Lice Ulice, but it is still not finished today. Two songs from this album, "Lice Ulice" and "Uzeću vam sve," were released in 2012.

In 2015, a third song from the Lice Ulice album, "Dom," came out. This showed that the project was not forgotten, just paused. Also in 2012, Jala and Buba Corelli began releasing songs from their EP called SA Sin City. They released five songs, and the EP was fully completed in 2013.

Working with Buba Corelli: Pakt s Đavolom and Beyond

On November 16, 2014, Jala and Buba Corelli released "Bez Tebe," the first song from their album Pakt s Đavolom. The full album came out on December 13, 2014, with three more songs: "22," "Trinidad & Tobago," and "Borba." This album was a huge success, making Jala and Corelli the most popular rappers in Bosnia and Herzegovina at that time.

After Pakt s Đavolom became popular, Jala and Buba Corelli started changing their music style in 2015. Their new songs were more popular and less "underground." On September 6, Jala released a song called "Casino." During this time, Buba Corelli was unavailable, so Jala continued making music by himself until Corelli returned after Eurovision.

While Corelli was away, Jala released "Dom" from his Lice Ulice album. This song was dedicated to Corelli and three other rappers. Jala also worked with pop artists like Dado Polumenta on "Dominantna," Maya Berović on "To me radi" (with Buba Corelli), and Mile Kitić's daughter, Elena Kitić. On July 28, 2016, Elena released her first official song, "Folira," which featured Jala.

In October 2016, Jala and Buba Corelli announced their new album, "Kruna." This album had eight songs and was even more popular than their previous ones. Most songs on "Kruna" featured only Jala or Buba, not both. Only two songs, "Klinka" and "Ne Volim" (featuring Elena), were made by both of them. Buba Corelli sang "Comfort," "Sporije," and "Dokaz" by himself. Jala sang "Restart," "La Martina," and "Bakšiš" by himself. The album used advanced technology, with six out of eight songs having high-quality 4K videos.

On March 27, 2017, Jala worked with Croatian singer Severina on her song "Otrove" (which means "Poison"). The music video for this song was watched millions of times very quickly. They worked together again in 2018 on Severina's song "Magija" ("Magic"). Jala also produced and wrote songs for Severina's 2019 album "Halo," including "Halo," "Daleko ti kuća" ("Far away is your home"), and "Tutorial."

Working with Other Artists

Since 2011, Jala has mostly worked with other Bosnian rappers who were popular in the underground music scene. Besides Buba Corelli, he was known for his collaborations with friends from his group Bluntbylon, especially Smayla. He also worked with Buba Corelli's group G recordz and their members.

Jala also made songs with rappers Klijent and Anći, and members of the Sarajevo groups Treća Smjena Crew, Capital City Crew, and Dlan Beats. In 2012, he worked with one of the biggest Bosnian rappers, Frenkie. They released a music video for their song "Ne odustajem" from Jala's album Riječ na Riječ. Later, Jala collaborated with Serbian rapper Juice, who also appeared on Jala's album Pakt s Đavolom. In 2018, Jala released the song "Mafia" with Buba Corelli.
