The Jamison family mystery began on or after October 8, 2009. The Jamison family, Bobby, his wife Sherilynn, and their daughter Madyson, mysteriously disappeared from Eufaula, Oklahoma, United States.
The family was reportedly looking to buy a piece of land near Red Oak, Oklahoma, which is about 30 miles from Eufaula. Their suspected remains were found in November 2013. The Oklahoma medical examiner officially identified them on July 3, 2014. The reason for their deaths was never found, and how they disappeared remains a puzzle.

The Disappearance of the Jamison Family
The first investigation into the Jamison family's disappearance suggested they did not leave on their own. Their pickup truck was found empty in Latimer County, Oklahoma, near Kinta, Oklahoma, a few days after they vanished.
The Jamisons' bodies were not found at that time. However, their dog, Maisie, who was very hungry, was still in the truck. Investigators also found the family's ID cards, wallets, mobile phones, a GPS system, and about US$32,000 in cash. The Jamisons were not known for carrying so much money.
Video from the family's home security cameras showed the couple leaving their house. The video, from the day they disappeared, showed them quietly moving things between their home and their truck. Their movements looked "trancelike," as if they were in a daze. The video also showed Sherilyn putting a brown briefcase into the truck. This briefcase and Sherilyn's handgun have never been found.
Discovery of the Remains
The bones of two adults and a child were found by two hunters in a faraway part of Latimer County in November 2013. This was more than four years after the family went missing. The spot was less than 3 miles from where their pickup truck had been left.
Many people thought these remains belonged to the missing family. The Oklahoma medical examiner's office used special tests, like anthropological and forensic pathological studies, to identify them. Officials confirmed on July 3, 2014, that the remains were indeed the Jamisons. Because the bodies were very decomposed, the cause of death could not be determined.
Possible Explanations and Theories
Before they disappeared, Bobby Jamison had a legal disagreement with his father, Bob Dean Jamison. Police, however, do not believe that Bobby's father was involved in the family's disappearance.
Investigators also looked at the large amount of cash found in their truck. They also considered the strange behavior Bobby and Sherilynn showed just before they went missing. The Jamisons had reportedly told their local pastor that they had seen spirits inside their home.
In the Media
The Jamison disappearance was featured on the Investigation Discovery TV show Disappeared. This happened in late 2010, in an episode called "Paradise Lost."
