Janice Robinson (born December 8, 1967) is an American singer and songwriter. She is famous for being part of the 1990s dance music group Livin' Joy. With Livin' Joy, she released the huge worldwide dance hit "Dreamer" in 1994. After this success, she left the group to start her own solo music career. Her first solo album, The Color Within Me, came out in 1999.

Janice Robinson's Music Journey
Early Career and Livin' Joy
Janice Robinson started her music journey touring as a singer for the dance group Snap! in the early 1990s. She performed in their live shows. In the mid-1990s, she began working with Italian music producers Paolo and Gianni Visnadi. They formed the dance group Livin' Joy.
Their first song, "Dreamer", became a massive hit in 1994. It reached number one in the United Kingdom. It also made it into the top ten in many other European countries. The song sold over 600,000 copies in the UK alone, earning a platinum award. Janice left Livin' Joy in 1996 to pursue her solo career.
Solo Music and TV Appearances
In 1998, Janice Robinson's song "Earthbeat" was featured on a music collection called Pride 1998. Her first solo album, The Color Within Me, was released in 1999. This album included the single "Nothing I Would Change".
In 2000, Janice performed on the TV show Charmed. Later that year, she toured America as an opening act for the legendary singer Tina Turner. Tina Turner personally chose Janice to open for her after hearing her album. In 2005, Janice released new versions of "Dreamer" under her own name. This release, called "Dreamer '05", used her original vocals and reached number five on the US Dance chart.
Recent Music and The X Factor
In 2015, Janice Robinson released "There Must Be Love" with DJ David Morales. This song became a number one hit on the Billboard Dance Charts. She released another single, "Father", in 2017.
In 2018, Janice surprised everyone by appearing as a contestant on The X Factor in the United Kingdom. She revealed to the judges that she was the original voice and songwriter behind the international hit "Dreamer". She made it to the live shows and was a popular contestant.
After The X Factor, Janice toured the UK and other countries in 2019. On August 1, 2019, she released a new song called "Freedom", again working with DJ David Morales.
Latest Projects and Tours
Janice Robinson has been working on a documentary about her life story. She also continued performing across the UK and abroad in 2021 and 2022. In January 2022, she announced new music on BBC Radio 2. She released "Essex Girls" with British rappers and a brand new version of "Dreamer" in February 2022. She was excited to reach new fans with her music. She also released "Love Comes Once in Your Life" with OMG Collective. In July 2023, she teamed up with OMG Collective again for "Just A Little Love".
From 2019 to 2024, Janice has toured with Ministry Of Sound Classical. She performed at many sold-out shows across the UK, including several at the famous Royal Albert Hall in London.
