Janine Allis (born in 1965) is a famous Australian businesswoman. She is best known for creating Boost Juice, a popular chain of juice and smoothie bars. She also partly owns Retail Zoo, which is the main company behind Boost Juice, Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill, and Cibo Espresso.
Janine started Boost Juice from her home in 2000. The very first Boost Juice store opened in Adelaide, South Australia. Now, you can find Boost Juice stores in 13 different countries around the world!
Besides her work with Retail Zoo, Janine Allis is also a director at Michael Hill Jeweller. She even wrote a book called The Accidental Entrepreneur – The Juicy Bits.

Janine Allis's Career Journey
Janine Allis began working when she was 17 years old. Her first job was helping out at an advertising agency called McCann-Erickson. After that, she tried many different jobs.
She worked as a model and also managed a gym. Janine was a nanny in France and a promotions executive in Portugal. She even worked as a camp counsellor in the USA. Her career also included being a stewardess on musician David Bowie's yacht. She was a senior manager for a cinema chain in Singapore. Janine also worked as a publicist, a publisher, an author, and helped organize tours for comedians from the USA.
Since April 2021, Janine has been an independent director at Kogan, an online retail company.
About Retail Zoo
After her success with Boost Juice, Janine and her husband decided to expand their business. In 2007, they created a company called Retail Zoo. This company helps them buy and grow other food chains.
The first food chain Retail Zoo bought was Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill in 2007. It had four Mexican food restaurants. In 2012, Retail Zoo bought Cibo Espresso, which had 20 coffee shops. In 2014, Retail Zoo started its own American-style hamburger restaurant chain called Betty's Burgers & Concrete Company.
Over the years, other companies have invested in Retail Zoo. This helped the company grow even bigger.
Janine Allis on TV
Janine Allis has appeared on several popular TV shows.
She was one of the "sharks" on the Australian version of the TV show Shark Tank. On this show, people pitch their business ideas to investors like Janine.
In 2019, Janine competed in the sixth season of Australian Survivor. She lasted 44 days and finished in sixth place.
In 2021 and 2022, Janine appeared as an advisor to Lord Sugar on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia. She helped him make decisions in the boardroom.
On March 26, 2024, Janine Allis appeared on Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars on Channel 9. In this show, she and famous chef Gordon Ramsay look for new food or drink ideas. Contestants pitch their ideas, hoping to win a $250,000 investment from both Janine and Gordon.
