Janny Sikazwe (born in 1979) is a former international football referee from Zambia. He was known for making important decisions during big football matches. He traveled the world to referee games, including some of the biggest tournaments.

Becoming a Top Referee
Janny Sikazwe was born in 1979 in Kapiri Mposhi, Zambia. He also worked as a teacher. He became an international football referee, which means he was qualified to officiate matches between teams from different countries.
His big chance came in 2008. He was asked to referee at the COSAFA U-20 Challenge Cup in South Africa. This happened because another referee could not pass a fitness test. This was a great opportunity for him to show his skills.

Sikazwe refereed many important football games during his career. He was chosen for some of the biggest tournaments in the world.
Africa Cup of Nations
He was one of the referees for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations. This is a major football tournament for African countries. He also refereed the final match of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
FIFA Club World Cup
In 2016, Janny Sikazwe refereed the final of the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup. This tournament brings together the best club teams from different continents. The final match was played in Japan.

Sikazwe was selected to officiate at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. This is the biggest football event in the world. He was also chosen to referee at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. There, he officiated the group stage match between Belgium and Canada on November 23.
A Challenging Match
During the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, Sikazwe refereed a match between Mali and Tunisia. This game became very talked about. He blew his whistle for full-time twice before the game was actually over. The first time was in the 86th minute, and then again just before the 91st minute.
Later, a report explained what happened. It said that Sikazwe was affected by the very hot weather. This made it hard for him to manage the match correctly.
Retirement
Janny Sikazwe officiated his last professional match on January 7, 2023. It was a game between Napsa Stars and Red Arrows. He had a long and successful career as a football referee.
