Japanese annexation of Korea facts for kids
The Japanese annexation of Korea happened in 1910. This is when the Empire of Japan took control of the Korean Empire and made it part of its own territory. In Japanese, this event is also known as the "annexation of Korea" or the "unification of Japan and Korea."
Japan ruled Korea until 1945. This was after the Potsdam Conference at the end of World War II, when Japan lost the war.
