Jason Andre Caffey, born on June 12, 1973, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He is famous for winning two championships with the Chicago Bulls in the late 1990s. After his playing career, he became a coach for the Mobile Bay Hurricanes in the ABA.

Jason Caffey's Basketball Journey
Jason Caffey was born in Mobile, Alabama. He played basketball at Davidson High School. There, he was named the state's Player of the Year by Gatorade. He also earned a spot on the 1st team All-State in Class 6A.
College and NBA Draft
Caffey, a 6-foot-8-inch power forward, played four years of college basketball. He attended the University of Alabama under coach Wimp Sanderson. In the 1995 NBA draft, the Chicago Bulls chose him as the 20th overall pick.
Winning Championships with the Bulls
Jason Caffey was part of the Chicago Bulls team that won two championships in a row. During the 1996–97 season, he averaged 7.3 points per game. He even started five playoff games that year. This made him one of only eleven Bulls players to start a playoff game during their championship runs.
Moving to Other Teams
Before he could win a third championship with the Bulls, Caffey was traded. On February 19, 1998, he moved to the Golden State Warriors. This trade was in exchange for David Vaughn and two draft picks. Some of the Bulls' star players, like Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman, were not happy about this trade.
Before the 1998-99 NBA season began, Caffey signed a new contract with the Warriors. He played very well during the 1999–2000 season. He achieved his career bests, averaging 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
Later Career and Coaching
Caffey joined the Milwaukee Bucks on June 27, 2000. He played three more seasons with them. His NBA career ended before the 2003–04 season.
After his playing days, Jason Caffey became a coach. On June 18, 2010, he was named the head coach of the Mobile Bay Hurricanes. This team is part of the ABA.
Political Career
In July 2021, Jason Caffey announced his plans to enter politics. He decided to run for a seat on the city council in Mobile, Alabama. He aimed to represent District 2 in his hometown.
