Jason Jeremy Freese (born January 12, 1975) is an American musician who plays many different instruments. He is known for playing the keyboard and saxophone for the famous band Green Day since 2004. Jason has played on over 50 music albums for many artists, including Dr. Dre, Pitbull, Avenged Sevenfold, Goo Goo Dolls, and Jewel.

Early Life and Family

Jason Freese was born on January 12, 1975, in Orange County, California. Music was a big part of his family! His father, Stan Freese, was the leader of the Disneyland Band and later helped book other talented performers for the park. Jason's mother, Trisha Freese, is a concert pianist and a writer.

Jason's older brother is also a well-known musician, drummer Josh Freese. When Jason and Josh were young, they spent their summers at Disneyland while their dad worked. They watched him perform and sometimes even joined in with toy instruments. This early exposure to music helped them both become amazing musicians.

Music Career

Jason Freese went to school in California and later studied at California State University, Fullerton. When he was 23, he got an exciting chance to go on tour with Joe Walsh, a member of the legendary band The Eagles. This was a big step in his music journey.

After touring with Joe Walsh, Jason joined the band Goo Goo Dolls. It was through this connection that he started working with Green Day. Since 2004, Jason has been a studio musician and a touring member for Green Day, playing various instruments like the saxophone, piano, and other keyboards.

Besides playing instruments, Jason has also worked as a music producer. He helped produce Jewel's 2009 album Lullaby and Death by Stereo's 2009 album Death Is My Only Friend. This means he helped guide the creation of the music for these albums.

Jason Freese has played on many albums for different artists over the years. Some of the bands and artists he has worked with include The Vandals, NOFX, Weezer, Busta Rhymes, Spoon, Foxboro Hot Tubs, and The Interrupters. He often plays saxophone, piano, and keyboards, but he can play many other instruments too!
