Jason Rodney Lyons was born on June 15, 1970, in Mildura, Victoria, Australia. He is a former professional motorcycle speedway rider. Speedway is a type of motorcycle racing on an oval dirt track. Jason's father, Rod Lyons, was also a speedway rider.

Jason Lyons' Speedway Career
Jason Lyons started his racing career in the United Kingdom in 1990. He joined the Glasgow Tigers team. After that, he moved to the Belle Vue Aces in 1992. He stayed with the Belle Vue Aces for 12 years. Fans even gave him the nickname 'Mr. Belle Vue' because he was so dedicated to the team.
Winning for Australia
Jason was a very important part of the Australian national team.
- In 1999, he helped Australia win the Speedway World Team Cup.
- In 2002, he was part of the team that won the Speedway World Cup. This big win happened at the East of England Showground. This was the home track of his club team, the Peterborough Panthers.
Early Achievements and Awards
In 1991, Jason competed in the Individual Speedway Junior World Championship final. He finished in third place, which was a great achievement for a young rider. This race took place in Coventry, England.
Jason also won two special awards named after famous speedway champions:
- In 1993, he won the Jack Young Memorial Cup in Adelaide, Australia.
- In 1996, he won the Peter Craven Memorial in Manchester, England.
