Jason Patric (born John Anthony Miller III on June 17, 1966) is an American actor. He has starred in many movies, TV shows, and plays. Some of his well-known films include The Lost Boys (1987), Rush (1991), Sleepers (1996), and Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997).
Jason Patric comes from a family of actors. His father was the famous actor and writer Jason Miller. His grandfather was the popular actor and comedian Jackie Gleason.

Early Life and Family
Jason Patric was born in New York City, in a part called Queens. His father, Jason Miller, was an actor and a playwright who won a Pulitzer Prize. His mother, Linda Miller, is also an actress. His grandfather, Jackie Gleason, was a very famous actor and comedian. Jason also has a half-brother named Joshua John Miller, who is an actor too. His family background is mostly Irish, with some German roots.
Jason grew up in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey. He went to Cavallini Middle School and then to Don Bosco Preparatory High School, which is an all-boys Catholic school. Later, he moved to California and attended Saint Monica Catholic High School in Santa Monica, California. During his high school years, he acted in school plays like Dracula and Grease.
Acting Career Highlights
After finishing school, Jason Patric started his acting career. His first TV role was in a drama called Toughlove in 1985. The next year, he appeared in the movie Solarbabies.
In 1987, Jason got a big role in the movie The Lost Boys. He played Michael Emerson, a teenage vampire. This movie was very popular and helped him become well-known. People even compared his look in the film to the singer Jim Morrison.
He continued to act in many different films. In 1993, he starred with Gene Hackman and Robert Duvall in Geronimo: An American Legend. He also received great reviews for his acting in the 1991 film Rush. Jason even turned down a lead role in the movie The Firm, which later went to Tom Cruise.
Jason Patric has also performed on Broadway, which is where many famous plays are shown in New York City. In 2005, he played "Brick" in a play called Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Later, in 2011, he appeared in a new version of his father's play, That Championship Season. This play was very successful when it first came out in 1972, winning both the Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award.
Personal Life
Jason Patric has one son. He was in a relationship with Danielle Schreiber for about ten years. He is also good friends with actor Kiefer Sutherland. They even acted together on Broadway in his father's play, That Championship Season.
