College Basketball Journey

Jason Thompson grew up in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. He led his high school team, Lenape High School, to a state championship in 2004.

He then played four seasons of college basketball at Rider University. During the 2006–07 season, Jason was one of only three players in the entire NCAA to average 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. The other two famous players were Kevin Durant and Nick Fazekas.

In his final year (2007–08), Jason averaged impressive stats: 20.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 blocks per game. He had a fantastic game on March 9, 2008, scoring 32 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. He led Rider to the championship game of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament. Even though Rider lost, Jason played great with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Rider finished that season with a strong 23–10 record. Jason ended his college career as the all-time leading rebounder for the Rider Broncs.
