Jason worked with his friends, like Professor E.J. Parsafoot (Charlie Dell). He also had a cool pocket-sized robot named Wiki. The series featured Sid Haig as the evil villain, Dragos. In the first season, James Doohan also starred. Jason of Star Command was inspired by another Filmation show, Space Academy, and even used the same robot, Peepo!

About the Show
Season 1 Adventures
The first season of Jason of Star Command was part of a bigger show called Tarzan and the Super 7. It was like the old movie serials. This meant it told one big story over 16 short parts. Each part was about 15 minutes long.
Every episode ended with a thrilling cliffhanger. This made viewers excited to watch the next part! The second season was a full, half-hour show on its own.
Spaceships and Villains
Jason flew a super-fast spaceship called the "Starfire." This ship had a special "star pod" that could break away in an emergency. The evil Dragos commanded a huge ship called the "Dragonship." It was built right into a large asteroid!
Dragos's fighter ships were unmanned drones. This was a smart choice by the show's creators. It meant that when these ships were destroyed, no pilots were hurt. This was important because the show aired on Saturday mornings. They wanted to keep violence to a minimum for young viewers.
Cast Changes and Connections
James Doohan left the show after the first season. He went to join the original Star Trek cast. They were making a big movie called Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
John Russell replaced him in the second season. He played Commander Stone, a blue-skinned character who always followed the rules. The asteroid prop from Space Academy was reused for Jason. It was said that Star Command was a secret part of the Space Academy. The robot Peepo also appeared.
